Hydro and TECHNAL are cutting the carbon footprint of aluminium facade systems by replacing primary aluminium with post-consumer recycled alternatives. By using materials like Hydro CIRCAL, the embodied carbon of these systems can be reduced by roughly 50 percent without losing structural or thermal performance. This approach combines recycled aluminium profiles with low-carbon gaskets and thermal breaks. The strategy emphasizes a closed-loop system where old facades are treated as material banks, allowing recovered aluminium to be fed back into new construction projects through selective deconstruction.
