Finnish startup Reduciner has secured €3.6 million in seed funding to build a 1MW pilot plant. The company uses a thermochemical process to turn captured carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide and activated carbon, providing a fuel source that works with existing industrial machinery. This technology targets hard to abate sectors like cement, steel, and lime production. By recycling kiln emissions back into the production process, Reduciner aims to create a closed carbon loop that reduces the need for expensive infrastructure overhauls.
