Finnish startup Reduciner has secured €3.6 million in funding to commercialize technology that transforms captured carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide. This process creates a feedstock for synthetic fuels and chemicals, targeting hard-to-abate sectors like cement, steel, and pulp production. The company is now developing a 1MW industrial pilot plant in Finland. By producing activated carbon as a co-product, Reduciner aims to make carbon utilization economically viable without relying solely on government subsidies.
