1 MW for a whole campus sounds small but if they actually hit 100% renewable off that, it means the load is modest. Would be interesting to see the actual consumption data.

Agreed. 1 MW ground mounted in Dindigul should produce around 1.5 GWh a year depending on irradiance. That's enough for maybe 300-400 homes. If a campus with hostels and labs stays under that, they are either very efficient or the claim is aspirational.

This is the kind of small scale institutional solar that doesn't make headlines but adds up. India needs thousands of these campus level projects to meet its 2030 target. The MoA structure is standard for RECPDCL.

True. But 1 MW is tiny in the grand scheme. RECPDCL does bigger transmission projects. This feels more like a CSR play with a research angle. Not bad, just not a game changer.
