Recovered carbon black certification program launched by ACE Laboratories and Abdallah Consulting
tiretechnologyinternational.comACE Laboratories and Abdallah Consulting have introduced Vericarb, an independent certification program for recovered carbon black (rCB). rCB is produced from end-of-life tires through pyrolysis and offers a lower-carbon alternative to virgin carbon black in rubber and polymer products. The program aims to standardize quality and provide third-party performance data, which has been missing in this growing market. The certification includes independent material characterization and rubber performance testing, giving both producers and buyers a consistent basis for evaluating rCB. For producers, it supports faster market entry and customer approvals. For compounders and manufacturers, it reduces time spent assessing unfamiliar materials and helps establish quality assurance requirements early. This move addresses a key barrier to rCB adoption: lack of credible, application-specific performance data. While ASTM standards exist, buyers often need to see how the material performs in their own products. Vericarb provides that bridge, potentially unlocking wider use of rCB in tires, plastics, and other industrial applications.
