Queensland cattle property sale includes 11,165 hectares for soil carbon projects
commercialrealestate.com.auA 23,750-hectare cattle breeding and finishing operation in Central Queensland has been listed for sale. The property, known as Christmas Creek and Fairhaven, is home to a renowned Droughtmaster herd and carries around 4,100 adult cattle equivalents. About 11,165 hectares of the property have been identified as suitable for further investigation under current soil carbon methodologies. This means the next owner could potentially earn carbon credits by changing grazing or land management practices, adding a new revenue stream on top of cattle production. The property also has extensive water infrastructure including 64 dams and spring-fed creeks. The sale is being handled by Colliers on a walk-in, walk-out basis including cattle, plant and equipment. Offers close on August 5.
