PTTC joins Net Zero Carbon Alliance to help Filipino MSMEs with decarbonization
business.inquirer.netThe Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), the training arm of the Department of Trade and Industry, has joined the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA). This makes PTTC the first public sector institution in the alliance. The partnership focuses on giving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) the knowledge and tools they need to reduce emissions and adopt sustainable practices. The NZCA is a private-sector coalition founded by First Gen-owned Energy Development Corporation in 2021. It aims to help organizations reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. PTTC and NZCA will work together on capacity building, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder engagement to support businesses in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Both groups stressed that public-private collaboration is essential for meaningful climate action. The agreement was signed at the MSME Hub in Makati City and signals growing government involvement in the Philippines' decarbonization efforts.
