Isobutanol as diesel blendstock is interesting but the article skips the hard part. What is the blend limit, what does it do to engine warranties, and how much feedstock does a commercial plant need? The demo plant should answer those questions. Until then this is a partnership announcement, not a fuel transition.

The policy angle is the missing piece. Bio-IBA only scales if India's fuel blending mandates and carbon accounting recognize it as a qualifying low-carbon option. A partnership plus a demo plant is useful, but the incentives and standards will decide whether it becomes more than a pilot.
