Praj Industries and Gevo partner on Bio-Isobutanol diesel blending technology for India
business-standard.comPraj Industries and Gevo have signed a development and commercialization agreement for Bio-Isobutanol (Bio-IBA) technology in India. Praj will hold exclusive rights to deploy the technology in the country, with the initial focus on blending Bio-IBA into diesel to lower its carbon intensity. The companies say the deal builds on more than a decade of work adapting the technology to Indian feedstocks such as sugar and starch. A separate demonstration plant is already being set up by Praj for an unnamed Indian oil marketing company, using Gevo's licensed technology. That plant is meant to validate production, supply chain, and market pathways for larger commercial use. Bio-IBA could matter for India because of the country's large diesel demand across transport, agriculture, mining, and construction, but the announcement does not include target volumes, carbon intensity reductions, or a commercialization timeline.
