Modernizing infrastructure is a start, but I want to see the actual capacity increases. Are they just replacing old poles or actually upgrading the transmission capacity to handle more renewables?
That is the main question. Without a clear regulatory incentive for decarbonization, these firms often just do the bare minimum to keep the lights on rather than prepping the grid for a low carbon future.
PPL is finally putting money into the grid. It is about time, as old infrastructure is the biggest bottleneck for getting new green projects online.
