POSCO Group will present its steel decarbonization roadmap at the 2026 Climate Industry International Expo in Busan, running September 16 to 18. The integrated pavilion covers four affiliates and four themes: decarbonization technology, core materials, carbon-free energy, and the K-GX ecosystem. The main attraction is HyREX, POSCO's hydrogen direct reduction process, with a 300,000 ton demonstration plant planned in Pohang by 2028 and commercialization targeted for 2030. The event is co-hosted by South Korea's climate ministry, the IEA, and the World Bank. POSCO International will show offshore wind and solar projects, while POSCO E&C will present nuclear, SMR, and high temperature gas reactor EPC capabilities. The group also plans to position the Southeast region as a K-GX industrial cluster linked to HyREX. Useful context for anyone following green steel, hydrogen supply, and how major industrial groups package their transition plans.
