The National Pork Producers Council is urging the IRS to delay the final rule for the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. The group argues that critical analytical tools, including the GREET model and the Feedstock Carbon Intensity Calculator, must be finalized before the rule is set. Producers are specifically concerned that current calculators omit the carbon-lowering benefits of using manure as a nutrient input. Without accurate scoring, the industry cannot determine how the tax credits will impact farm economics or shift demand in grain and oilseed markets.
