Politecnico di Milano has introduced POLICAP, a mobile carbon capture laboratory designed to test solvent-based capture technologies at industrial sites. The facility allows researchers to evaluate new materials and process configurations using real industrial emissions streams to lower energy costs and improve efficiency. This project is part of the broader ECCSEL-ERIC research network and Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. It supports the country's goal of scaling CCUS infrastructure, complementing larger projects like the Ravenna CCS Hub to help hard-to-abate industries reach net-zero targets.
