He says Canada already produces enough diesel but bottlenecks cause imports. The real question is where those bottlenecks are. If it's rail or pipeline constraints, tax cuts on production won't fix that. You'd need to see a concrete plan for the actual transport infrastructure, not just a promise to build it.

Notice the article doesn't mention what the federal carbon tax currently adds to a litre of diesel. Without that number, the 'affordability' claim is vague. Also, extending the excise cut to July 1 means the revenue loss is on the table. I'd like to see the fiscal impact compared with the stated goal.
