Indonesia's PLN EPI and Singapore-based eFUELS SEA have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore a cross-border green hydrogen supply chain. The deal was announced at the Global Hydrogen Ecosystem Summit 2026 in Jakarta. The companies will study production, infrastructure, logistics, and commercial models to supply green hydrogen and e-fuels to the regional market. PLN EPI, a subholding of state utility PLN, sees Indonesia's renewable energy potential as a base for green hydrogen production. eFUELS SEA brings expertise in synthetic fuels designed as drop-in replacements for hard-to-abate sectors like aviation and shipping. The partnership aims to build a competitive supply chain that supports Asia-Pacific decarbonization goals. Both parties will assess renewable electricity sources, traceability mechanisms, and pilot projects. The MoU is an early step, and concrete project timelines are not yet defined. The collaboration highlights growing interest in hydrogen as a cross-border energy commodity in Southeast Asia.
