PHINIA Showcases Advanced Fuel Systems for Lower-Carbon Trucks at IAA Transportation 2026

The company says about 85% of its R&D budget goes toward improving fuel efficiency, cutting emissions, and advancing alternative fuels for commercial vehicles. The booth will feature advanced diesel systems, gaseous fuels, and alternative liquid fuels including HVO, biodiesel, hydrogen, natural gas, ethanol, and methanol. PHINIA will also demo a homologated hydrogen internal combustion engine light commercial vehicle through the IAA Ride & Drive program. The company argues there is no single path to lower-carbon mobility. Its approach gives manufacturers flexibility to meet emissions rules while maintaining performance and reliability, with a focus on practical, scalable solutions for medium and heavy-duty trucks.
