The Philippines and Singapore have established a carbon trading framework under the Paris Agreement. This deal allows for the transfer of verified emission reductions, enabling Singaporean companies to offset up to 5 percent of their taxable emissions using credits from projects in the Philippines. Investment will target renewable energy, waste management, and nature based solutions. A joint committee will oversee the implementation and tracking of these emission cuts, with a portion of the proceeds funding climate adaptation projects in the Philippines.
