The Philippines and Singapore have signed a legally binding agreement to collaborate on carbon credits. This deal establishes a framework for generating and transferring credits from carbon mitigation projects, such as forest conservation and renewable energy development, in alignment with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This partnership allows Singapore to offset its emissions using high-integrity projects in the Philippines. The agreement aims to channel climate finance into the Philippines to support sustainable development, create jobs, and improve energy security.
