The Philippines and Singapore have signed a legally binding agreement to collaborate on carbon credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This deal establishes a framework for generating and transferring credits from mitigation projects, including forest conservation and renewable energy development. Singapore will use these credits to offset its own emissions, while the Philippines aims to attract climate finance for local sustainable development. This is the first agreement of its kind for the Philippines and the 11th for Singapore.
