Perkasie PFAS Treatment Reaches 200 Million Gallons, Reuses Activated Carbon for Long-Term Use
mychesco.comPerkasie Regional Authority's temporary PFAS treatment system has processed over 200 million gallons of drinking water in its first year. The system uses granular activated carbon from Sentinel Water Solutions and DESOTEC, allowing the utility to begin PFAS treatment a year before its permanent facility is ready. Instead of discarding the spent carbon, Perkasie plans to reactivate and reuse it, building an inventory of authority-owned GAC for the future plant. This reduces reliance on virgin carbon and cuts long-term material costs.
