PepsiCo has entered a deal to purchase environmental attribute certificates for 30,000 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia produced by TalusAg. This book-and-claim agreement allows PepsiCo to claim carbon reductions in its global fertilizer supply chain without the need to physically transport the ammonia from decentralized production sites. TalusAg utilizes small-scale green ammonia systems combining electrolysis and air separation. By using tokenized certificates via S3 Markets, the partnership aims to create demand signals for low-carbon fertilizers while avoiding the high logistics costs associated with physical green ammonia delivery.
