PepsiCo has entered a 10-year virtual power purchase agreement with Statkraft to lower carbon emissions across its European operations and supply chain. The deal focuses on a wind project in Spain that is being upgraded with more efficient turbines to increase electricity output. This initiative includes suppliers Givaudan and Smurfit Westrock, allowing smaller partners to access long-term renewable energy terms typically reserved for larger corporations. The agreement is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 32,000 metric tons.
