PepsiCo is partnering with TalusAg to purchase environmental attributes for 30,000 to 71,000 metric tons of low-carbon ammonia. This move targets emissions in the fertilizer supply chain, one of the most difficult areas of agricultural production to decarbonize. The deal uses a book-and-claim model managed by S3 Markets. This allows PepsiCo to fund low-emission ammonia production in Iowa without needing to physically transport the fertilizer to every global location, creating a financial incentive for cleaner industrial chemistry.
