PepsiCo is partnering with Fertiberia to deploy green hydrogen-based fertilisers across 400,000 acres of European farmland. By replacing natural gas with green hydrogen in the production of Impact Zero fertiliser, the companies aim to reduce emissions by up to 63% for crops like potatoes and corn. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to cut Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030. The rollout includes farmers in France, Romania, Serbia, Greece, and Türkiye, with a goal of having half of the European supply chain use sustainable fertilisers by the end of the decade.
