Attribution arguments like this are getting more common. The science on extreme event attribution is solid, but pinning a single heat wave on one country's cumulative emissions is a political statement, not a climate model output.
True, but the underlying point about historical responsibility is valid. The U.S. has emitted more CO2 than any other country cumulatively. That said, Pulvar's framing skips over the fact that France still imports a lot of its energy and has its own fossil fuel use.
