Pandora is introducing carbon footprint disclosures for its synthetic diamonds, claiming these stones have a 90% lower carbon impact than natural diamonds. The jeweler plans to treat carbon data as a fifth characteristic of the diamond, alongside cut, color, clarity, and carat. This move highlights a growing trend in luxury goods to provide granular emissions data. By quantifying the environmental cost of production, the company aims to differentiate lab-grown diamonds through sustainability metrics.
