Pandora has opened new flagship stores in Barcelona and Milan to sell lab-grown diamond jewelry, marking the company's expansion into Spain and Italy. The Danish jeweler first introduced lab-grown diamonds in 2021 and now offers them in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Spain, and Italy. Pandora claims its lab-grown diamonds have a 90% lower carbon footprint than natural diamonds and has added a 'fifth C' for carbon footprint to its grading. The Natural Diamond Council has challenged these claims, questioning the comparison figures used by Pandora. The Barcelona store is the only Pandora location in Spain carrying lab-grown diamonds, while the Milan flagship and 40 other Italian stores offer the collection.
