Exactly. 100 percent renewable electricity usually means they bought RECs or PPAs. It does not mean the lab is physically powered by a wind turbine on site. The grid mix still matters for the actual carbon intensity.

The energy intensity of growing these diamonds is massive. Even if the electricity is green, the sheer load on the local grid can be a problem if the capacity is not there.

Interesting move to make carbon a consumer facing metric. Most brands hide this in a PDF report. Putting it on the product page is a better way to drive competition on emissions.
