Pakistan is introducing a $615 million green financing initiative to help its export sectors, including textiles and leather, reduce carbon emissions. The program aims to cut 80 million tons of CO2 and ensure local industries meet European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) standards. Led by EXIM Bank, the plan uses a blended finance model with $600 million in concessional loans and $15 million in grants. This funding will support the adoption of clean technologies, renewable energy, and energy-efficient machinery to maintain competitiveness in global markets.
