Padthaway Resources, a First Nations-owned fuel and logistics company, has sold a minority stake to renewable energy investor Celero Infrastructure in a deal valuing the firm at over $4.5 million. The investment will fund expansion of low-carbon fuel offerings like biofuels and HVO, support Aboriginal partner organizations, and push operations into Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The company currently supplies diesel to renewable project sites but aims to broaden its fuel mix and eventually manufacture biofuel locally. Founder Jacob Gabriel notes that 43% of Australia's future clean energy infrastructure will sit on Aboriginal land, and he wants Traditional Owner groups to benefit economically from these projects. Padthaway is already in early talks to supply fuel and biofuels along the Western Renewable Link transmission line in Victoria. The deal keeps majority control with Indigenous owners while positioning the business to serve the growing demand for on-site refuelling in renewables, data centres, and battery storage projects.
