Pacifico Mexinol 210 MW Electrolyzer EPC Agreement Signed with Siemens Energy and Techint
chemengonline.comTransition Industries has signed a definitive EPC agreement with Siemens Energy and Techint E&C for a 210 MW electrolyzer facility at the Pacifico Mexinol project in Sinaloa, Mexico. The facility will use Siemens Energy Elyzer P-300 electrolyzers to produce renewable hydrogen for RFNBO methanol production. Construction is expected to start in early 2027, subject to financing and other conditions. The project is designed to produce 175,000 metric tons per year of RFNBO methanol, plus recycled carbon fuel methanol and ultra-low-carbon methanol from natural gas with carbon capture. Once operational in 2030, it could become the largest standalone ultra-low-carbon chemical facility in the world. The EPC deal is a major step forward for large-scale green hydrogen in the Americas.
