Hybrid setups make sense for industrial loads, but I wonder about the actual capacity factor here. Wind and solar in Kadapa have different peaks. Are they adding any storage to this, or just relying on the complementary nature of the two sources?

If there is no storage, they are still at the mercy of the grid for base load. Cement plants have huge energy demands. This helps the metrics, but the real heavy lifting for decarbonization in cement is usually the kiln heat, not just the electricity.

The goal of being carbon negative by 2040 is a bold claim. Switching the power source is a start, but they will need aggressive carbon capture or alternative fuels to hit that target given the process emissions inherent in lime calcination.
