Overbury has installed Adaptavate's Breathaboard, a bio-based wallboard that stores biogenic carbon and can be composted at end of life, at Legal & General's new London headquarters at 10 Coleman Street. The project supports L&G's goal of operational net zero emissions across its occupied offices by 2030. The building retains around 95% of its structure and uses low-carbon technologies including air source heat pumps. Breathaboard has already been used on projects for the UK Green Building Council and others. Adaptavate reports over 100 registered projects and more than 19 million pounds in demand through letters of intent and offtake agreements. The company is now working to scale production and secure commercial partnerships to meet that demand.

The real test is whether it holds up in actual office conditions over years. Compostable is nice but only if it doesn't degrade early. Hope they publish the trial data.
