Orion S.A. announced it is producing circular carbon black at its ISCC PLUS certified plant in Qingdao, China. The facility makes three grades of ECORAX Circular carbon black from tire pyrolysis oil, including grades for tires and mechanical rubber goods. Orion was the first carbon black producer to make carbon black with 100% tire pyrolysis oil and now has similar capability in Europe. The move allows tire manufacturers to use recycled materials without changing performance. Orion uses dedicated infrastructure with separate oil tanks to blend tire pyrolysis oil and conventional carbon black oil in controlled ratios. This gives customers traceable, certified circular materials for their products.
