Orion starts circular carbon black production from tire pyrolysis oil in Qingdao, China

Orion S.A. has begun producing circular carbon black at its ISCC PLUS certified plant in Qingdao, China. The facility makes three grades of ECORAX Circular carbon black from tire pyrolysis oil (TPO), a recycled feedstock. The grades include hard black suitable for tires and mechanical rubber goods. This follows similar production in Jaslo, Poland, and gives Orion more capacity to supply circular alternatives to conventional carbon black without performance tradeoffs. Circular carbon black is made by replacing standard carbon black oil with TPO in dedicated infrastructure. Orion uses separate oil tanks and precise blending to keep quality consistent. The company says it is the first carbon black producer to use 100% TPO and to commercialize multiple ISCC PLUS certified grades globally. For buyers in tire and rubber markets, this means a drop in replacement for standard grades like N326 and N330 that can support their own circular sourcing goals.
