Gas Liquids Engineering has finished detailed engineering for Enhance Energy's Origins carbon capture and storage hub near Clive, Alberta. The work covers the CO2 pipeline and related facilities that connect existing transport infrastructure to the new sequestration hub. Construction is now underway, with the project expected to start service in early 2027. The engineering scope included pipeline hydraulics, process and mechanical design, civil and structural work, electrical and instrumentation systems, controls, pipeline integrity, safety systems, and construction requirements. Origins builds on Enhance's existing carbon capture network in Alberta and marks another step in the province's CCS infrastructure buildout. For anyone tracking carbon capture projects, this is a signal that the hub is past the design phase and into execution. The next details to watch are captured CO2 volumes, injection rates, and commercial agreements.
