Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) has received Rs 5.25 crore from the Odisha State Energy Conservation Fund (OSECF) to support energy efficiency upgrades at its thermal plant. The funding targets lower power consumption and reduced carbon emissions, part of a broader state push toward cleaner energy infrastructure. The state aims for 11 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, backed by investments in green hydrogen hubs, battery storage, and over Rs 30,000 crore for transmission and distribution upgrades. These moves signal a shift from conventional generation toward a more resilient, low-carbon grid.
