One Billion Acres Regenerative Agriculture Campaign Launches at New York Climate Week
truehollywoodtalk.comThe One Billion Acres campaign officially launched during New York Climate Week with a press conference and exclusive premiere of the documentary Groundswell. The campaign aims to bring one billion acres worldwide into regenerative agriculture by 2030, with initial commitments covering 66 million acres, including over 40 million acres of U.S. farmland and rangeland. Grassroots Carbon pledged 40 million acres and the Regenerative Organic Alliance pledged 8 million acres, supported by certifiers like Land to Market and Demeter. Groundswell, directed by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, is the third film in their soil trilogy and won the Golden Globe Documentary Prize. The campaign turns the film's message into a pledge-based platform that tracks progress publicly. Participating brands include Nestlé, Maker's Mark, and Applegate. The launch is one of the largest coordinated regenerative agriculture announcements to date, with a focus on restoring soil carbon, improving water cycles, and building farmer resilience.
