OMODA & JAECOO 2026 Summit: Zero-Carbon Factories, Recycled Aluminum, and Hybrid Range Records
manilatimes.netOMODA & JAECOO will hold its 2026 International User Summit in Wuhu, China from October 18 to 24. The automaker plans to show how it is applying green technology across vehicle production and design, including factory solar, recycled aluminum, and hybrid powertrains. Parent company R&D spending rose 28.3% year on year to RMB 6.672 billion in the first half of 2026, with much of it going to electrification and driver assistance systems. The company says renewable energy now covers 52.77% of electricity use at its parent's manufacturing sites, and it operates five national-level green factories and two zero-carbon factories. Its low-carbon aluminum process, which uses recycled aluminum and integrated die casting, can cut emissions by 80% compared with primary aluminum. The JAECOO 7 SHS already uses around 75% low-carbon aluminum. Summit highlights include long-range demonstrations for the OMODA 7 SHS-H and the JAECOO 8 SHS-P, which set a Guinness World Records title in Indonesia with a 1,660 kilometer combined driving range. For anyone tracking automotive decarbonization, the event is a chance to see whether these factory and material claims hold up in real-world use.
