Oman is investing $44 billion into green hydrogen production to diversify its economy beyond oil and gas. The government aims to produce one million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030, utilizing its solar and wind resources to become a regional exporter of clean fuels. As part of its 2050 net zero strategy, Oman is launching the Meezan platform to manage carbon markets and trading. The country targets a 33 percent reduction in emissions by 2035 while maintaining its hydrocarbon infrastructure to ensure economic stability during the transition.
