Oman is expanding its vegetation cover and mangrove ecosystems to improve carbon absorption and combat desertification. Through the Plant Oman 2050 project, the government aims to plant 100 million mangrove trees and restore degraded lands to meet its 2050 carbon neutrality target. The Environment Authority is using satellite imagery and remote sensing to track the survival rates of native species.
