SOHAR Port and Freezone has started a sustainability program for young Omani professionals and graduates. The curriculum covers critical decarbonization technologies, including green hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), and energy storage value chains. The curriculum mentions integration strategies. That is the real hurdle. You can train people on hydrogen, but if the grid infrastructure in North Al Batinah cannot handle the load or the storage isn't there, the skills won't have a place to go.

I hope they spend time on the industrial efficiency part. High tech hydrogen is great, but the easiest wins are usually in basic industrial heat and efficiency. Wonder if the case studies cover actual plant retrofits in the Sohar zone.
