Oman has unveiled an updated National Zero Neutrality Plan aiming for net zero by 2050. The strategy targets a 33% reduction in emissions by 2035, focusing on the oil, gas, transport, and electricity sectors, which currently produce 70% of the country's greenhouse gases. To support these goals, the government introduced a regulatory framework for carbon markets and the Meezan digital platform. This infrastructure is designed to turn emission reductions into tradable carbon credits, attracting private investment for green hydrogen and renewable energy projects.
