Oman has released an updated National Net Zero Strategy aimed at reaching net zero emissions by 2050. The plan includes a tiered approach to emissions reduction, focusing on renewables and energy efficiency first, followed by carbon capture and hydrogen technology. To support these goals, Oman introduced a new regulatory framework for carbon markets and the Meezan National Carbon Registry. This digital infrastructure is designed to track and trade carbon credits according to international standards, attracting investment into green industry and emissions reduction projects.
