Oman is accelerating its energy transition by integrating a national net-zero strategy with a new regulatory framework for carbon markets. The country has expanded its renewable capacity through the Manah 1 and 2 solar projects, bringing 1 gigawatt of power online and pushing renewable electricity generation to 9 percent of its total mix. Beyond solar, the Sultanate is targeting zero routine flaring by 2030 and investing in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) to decarbonize its heavy industry and oil and gas sectors.
