Ohmium International and RenewCO2 are collaborating to turn captured carbon dioxide into industrial chemicals using green hydrogen and specialized catalysts. The partnership aims to reduce the chemical sector's carbon footprint, which currently accounts for 15% of global industrial greenhouse gas emissions. The technology focuses on producing formic acid and other precursors for plastics and fuels. By utilizing electrochemical reactions at ambient conditions, the process removes 1.42 tons of CO2 for every ton of chemical produced, offering a circular alternative to traditional petrochemical manufacturing.
