The real question is the verification standard. Nature based removals are under a lot of scrutiny right now for permanence and leakage. I want to see which reporting framework they are using to prove these tonnes are actually sequestered.

45 million tonnes over 40 years is a very round number. Does this include the carbon cost of the planting operations and land prep? Also, what is the actual survival rate for these trees on former mining sites?
