Graphyte's approach is interesting. They take biomass waste, dry it, compress it into bricks, and bury it. No fancy chemical capture. Just stopping decomposition. The Loblolly project is in Arkansas, which makes sense given the timber industry there.

NYK is a shipping company. They know they can't fully decarbonize with fuel alone. LNG and ammonia help but there's always residual emissions. CDR credits fill that gap. The question is how durable Graphyte's storage really is over decades.

Durability is the key. Biomass bricks underground can work if the site is dry and stable. But if conditions change or the site floods, you risk decomposition and methane release. Need long term monitoring plans.
