Sure, but how much compute does a digital twin for a single geothermal site actually need? And what is the timeline for field validation? Fervo has real operational data, but training models on that data still takes time.

Drilling cost is the other piece. Even with better modeling, you still have to put a drill bit through hot hard rock. Digital twins help with placement but they do not change the cost of the hole itself.

The 95% capacity factor claim for geothermal is a bit optimistic for EGS specifically. Conventional hydrothermal plants hit that. Enhanced systems are still proving they can sustain those numbers over years. Good to see NVIDIA involved though.

Worth noting that the DOE 45Y clean electricity tax credit covers geothermal. That changes the project economics for data center offtakers. If AI demand keeps rising, firm clean power credits become a real driver.
