The LCOE is secondary to the tax credits right now. If the production tax credits for clean energy stay aggressive, the market will tolerate a higher cost for the sake of 24/7 carbon free power. The incentive structure is doing the heavy lifting here.

I wonder about the industrial heat application. If these can be sited near heavy industry for steam and heat instead of just pumping electricity into the grid, the value prop changes. That is where the real decarbonization of industry happens.

Basically a summary of the bull case for NuScale. They have the regulatory edge, but they are burning cash and have no profits yet. Worth watching if they actually sign some binding power agreements.
