The National University of Singapore has launched the Hydrogen and Low-Carbon Consortium (HyLoCC) to bridge the gap between lab research and commercial deployment of decarbonization technologies. Four founding members DBS Bank, Keppel Infrastructure, Surbana Jurong, and YTL PowerSeraya will help shape strategic priorities. The consortium offers seminars, collaborative research, access to equipment for evaluating hydrogen and carbon utilization technologies, and training programs. HyLoCC is run by NUS's Centre for Hydrogen and Carbon Innovations (CHCI), which was renamed from Centre for Hydrogen Innovations in July 2026 to reflect a broader focus on both hydrogen and carbon innovations. CHCI operates a 600-square-meter research facility and focuses on hydrogen production, carbon capture, and transformation. The consortium aims to connect labs, startups, and companies across the value chain to accelerate real-world deployment of low-carbon solutions.
